How to use the wheelchair ramps on the Peugeot Boxer Minibus

Watch our video here to see how you deploy the ramp on the Peugeot Boxer.

Firstly, you need to make sure you’re on level ground, and if you’re on an incline, that the minibus is facing downhill. You also need to be sure you have enough space to fully deploy the ramp with space to manoeuvre a wheelchair comfortably.

The doors can then be fully opened and secured using catches to stop them closing on you in strong winds. Once unscrewed the ramp then slides across to the middle of the double doors and you unclip the side fastenings to get it ready to unfold.

The ramp is unfolded in three sections, with clips and supports at each section. Once deployed the ramp provides a long, stable, incline for wheelchair access.
Each seat can easily be removed, with no specialist equipment or tools. You need to remove at least 4 seats to comfortably fit a wheelchair user. At the back of the minibus you will find a high-level seatbelt for a shoulder restraint. An essential safety element to prevent your wheelchair accessible passenger from jack-knifing in a collision or sudden stop.

Stowing the ramp is easy, simply fold securing it as you go and slid it back into position. Making pushed back into the pin switch and secured. There is a light on the dashboard so the driver can be sure this has been completed.

Safety & Technology

With every vehicle safety is paramount. The Peugeot Boxer includes a range of safety features, including ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), and multiple airbags. Advanced driver assistance systems such as lane departure warning, rearview camera, and parking sensors further enhance safety and ease of use. These additional features give the driver the confidence to reverse and park this larger vehicle.

Fatigue is an often-overlooked issue for drivers who have busy schedules and who might be driving their passengers to events after a full day of work. The lane departure warning alerts drivers who might be drifting out of their lane, without realising, if they are fatigued.

If you are looking for a reliable, practical but comfortable 17-seat minibus that can be relied upon to get you passengers to where they want to go in comfort and safety then the Peugeot Boxer is a great choice. It is a reliable, versatile, and comfortable option in the minibus market. It doesn’t have all the whistles and bells that you might find with more expensive options but Its spacious interior, efficient performance, and comprehensive safety features make it an ideal choice for the more budget conscious organisations seeking a robust and dependable minibus.
