Minibus Walkaround Checks
Walkaround checks need to be completed by your drivers every day. It’s your driver’s first line of defense against a problem out on the road.
What is a walkaround check?
A minibus walkaround check is completed by the driver (or a designated member of staff) to look for any obvious issues with the vehicle.
These checks need to be carried out every day, or before every journey, to ensure that the minibus is ready to go and that there are no new issues such as a bald or flat tyre, chips in the windscreen, insufficient fuel, or any new damage to the bodywork.
By completing these checks, drivers can rest assured they’ve done all they can for a problem-free journey, and that they will not be held responsible for any issues when out on the road, or blamed for accidental damage that hadn’t been noticed before.

A free app to complete and manage your walk around checks
It can be hard to get busy staff to complete walk-around checks, especially as driving is not their main duty.
We have a free app, for anyone to use, that allows these checks to be completed on a phone or app (provided wifi is available) and the results will appear on a dashboard.
There are two checks to choose from. A 12 point daily check and a more indepth 40 point weekly check that includes checks under the bonnet.
Both these checks have a green/good or red/issue option for each question, and if there is a problem, then notes and photos can be taken and submitted.
Once completed the ‘transport manager’ can see who has completed the checks and if there is an issue, flagged up red. Once the issue has been resolved, the red flag can be changed to green.
To get started, you just need to set up your account on the My Minibus Manager dashboard and then invite your drivers. They will receive an email to set up a password, and once they have downloaded the app and signed in, they can complete their checks.
