D1 Driver Training includes a theory and practical driving test. You will also need to complete a medical and eyesight test. Once passed, you will have full D1 entitlement on your driving licence, meaning you can drive 9-16 passenger seat minibuses and be paid to do so.

If you passed your car driving test before 1st Jaunary 1997 you will have inherited D1 (101) entitlement on your licence. Under a Section 19 Permit, you can drive 9-16 passenger seat minibuses and be paid to do so.

If you are driving for an organisation with a PSV Operator’s Licence, you will need to complete D1 driver training (even if you have inherited D1 entitlement) and Drivers CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence), which is 35 hours of periodic training over 5 years.
